Braillestorm

BrailleStorm was a semi-autonomous robot modelled after industry-standard Braille printers. It used three-axis movement mechanisms with programmable pin cartridges that imprinted Braille characters in real-time using a Bluetooth input device. Conforming to the competition’s theme ‘Robots for Life Improvement’, BrailleStorm aimed to empower the visually impaired in society through easier communication.

I headed the design and content development of the marketing collateral and presentation, and contributed in technical development during the designing, construction and programming of the robot. The project represented the U.A.E against 50+ other countries worldwide at the World Robot Olympiad in 2011.
